PROCEDURES & GUIDELINES

Sullivan Counter Tops looks forward to working with you.  We understand that counter top installation is not something with which you have an everyday familiarity. In order to help you with the process we have put together a list of procedures and a pre-measure check list. Our goal is to provide you with a pleasant experience and an outstanding product.  Communication is a big component of achieving this goal.

1.  GET A BID. Supply us with a drawing or sketch with dimensions (in person, by fax or email), and we will generate a written bid, which is valid for at least 45 days. Our quoted installed price always includes templating, fabrication, installation and sales tax. We will make note if plywood underlayment is included in the bid or not. If not, we will show it as an option. Our prices DO NOT include any tear-out, plumbing, electrical work, painting or leveling of cabinets. Requests for bid for a tear-out and removal of existing countertops will be bid separately.

2.  SCHEDULE AND LEAD TIMES.  We recommend that you schedule your job at the same time you order your cabinets. Every installation requires two dates: the measure date and the installation date. Your place on our schedule reflects our obligation to reserve time for your job, but you can reschedule as necessary with no penalty. Rescheduling is common. Generally Corian Solid Surface counter tops require one week between measure and installation.  Laminate and Wood counter tops require 2-3 weeks between measure and installation. Stone and Quartz counter tops require 2 weeks between measure and installation.

3.  PRE-MEASURE CHECKLIST.  Attached is a checklist of 7 requirements to complete before the measure appointment.  Please review the checklist and make sure everything is completed that applies to your job.  If you do not complete the items on the checklist we may have to reschedule your measure and your installation date.

4.  MEASURE AND JOB SITE MEETING.  We strongly recommend you meet us at the job site for the measure. This is your opportunity to give us your input on all details. All the major decisions including color, edge treatment and splash detail should be decided before the measure, but will be confirmed at that time. Job site conditions will be reviewed with the goal of ensuring that the final installation meets your expectations with no surprises.

TERMS.  Our policy is to collect a 50% payment at the time of the measure. The balance is due upon completion. We accept payment by personal check, Visa, MasterCard and Discover. Our installation crew will have a copy of the invoice with them. You can pay the balance due by check. If you are paying by credit card, we will run the balance due using the credit card on file from your initial payment. We will make the transaction the day after the installation is completed unless instructed otherwise by you. Receipts will be sent for all payments.
